What are they? Where do you buy them. I have a 2007 2670, with a windlass.

a tensioner is used to pull the anchor tight against the bow roller assembly and secure it when in transit. You're not supposed to rely on the windlass keeping the anchor tight and in place. Here's one at west marine:
http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=45489&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50304&subdeptNum=50335&classNum=50337

You don't have to get that fancy. I use a simple wire rope and hook from the windlass to the chain. The anchor on our small boats does not have to be tightly jammed against the roller during transit and the hook holds it just fine against accidental deployment while under way.

I know this may sound cheap to some, but I use a thick rubber bungee cord looped around the windless. It works great.

I installed an anchor lock from West Marine. It works great. See at http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... yErrorView

I have a GB 2690 and found that without a anchor/chain tensioner you can destroy the windlass gearing from the continual jerking on the anchor chain when the boat bounces. I have this one which works great. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=45489&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50304&subdeptNum=50335&classNum=50337

I made my own by splicing an eye on one end of a short piece of rope and I spliced a clip on the other. It was kind of fun. There are many sites on the web that can show you how to splice rope. Here are a couple.
